Tis' the season.

Christmas is always a super busy time of the year for photographers.

Everyone trying to get photos of the family for gifts

or just a few cute ones of the kids to put on their Christmas cards.

Every year I like to do a Christmas Mini at a super low price as a Thank you to all my wonderful loyal customers and a welcome to new ones.

This year for the first time I was able to set up indoors and leave it up for 3 weeks.
(And not have to shoot in the rain like last yr lol)

I LOVE HAVING MY OWN STUDIO.

So from my family to yours, We hope you have a
Wonderfully Blessed & Very Merry Christmas.

Composit Baby in a Hammock.

ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST

Through the magic of photoshop the baby never left the mattress to create this image of her in the hammock...

These are the 3 images used to create the final piece of artwork.

In the 2 images with baby in the hammock her parents are the ones holding the stick.

Usually it would just be two images to create the finished product but I wanted to change her expression to a more relaxed one.

Blooming Beautiful

At what point does a dress become a gown?

When you add a wrap and some photoshop magic.

These are the 3 images I used to create the "/flowing/flowering gown".

The burgundy dress belongs to the lovely model.
It was serendipitous how perfectly it blended with my pink ombre wrap.

EXCITING AND NEW

I have already mentioned a focus on Newborns this year.

But, there are so many other NEW things going on at Our Country Home.

Nolan - 10days New

We are building a studio!!
It is going to be a wonderful space full of lovely pretty props.
A place I can capture those special moments for your family that will be timeless and classic
that one day will become family heirlooms to be treasured for years to come.

Under Construction.

Though it might seem like we are sleeping on the job here, I assure you, much work is underway behind the scenes these past couple of months

The building is up and the workmen have been hard at it putting in the new wiring, itching from the insulation, dry-walling and mudding..

And though they might seem to be doing all the sweaty work, I am working extremely hard chasing those paperwork ducks into a row and studying hard to become the best artist I can be.

I can't wait to get some paint on the walls and the flooring down.

But in the mean time, we are also working on lots of other wonderful surprises to make Our Country Home the right choice for your family.
.
But these are a secret for now, so don't tell...Shhhhhh.

Taking babies to the next level.

This year I am focusing on my newborn skills and taking my work to the next level...I am learning everything I possibly can about the art of capturing these new little people when they first arrive in our world...I am taking as many possible classes on the newest posing techniques, lighting and the art behind Newborn Photography.

Most importantly I am learning how to SAFELY pose them...Above all else the well being of the babies comes first...I always have a spotter/assistant/mom close by the babies and they are never left unattended, I photoshop out the assistant so all you see is the final artwork, but be assured they are only inches from the babies at all time.

I do not hang, balance or pose babies in a way that puts them at any risk, once again photoshop plays a HUGE part of safe newborn photography...If you ever have questions about how I or another posed a baby or achieved a certain shot, please feel free to ask me and I will be more than happy to answer as best I can or point you to somewhere you can see how they are done.

Flowing Fabric and Beautiful Belly

I had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous momma to be in the new studio.

We played with flowing fabric.

A little back lighting
(Loving my new light setup btw)

and then switched it up from softbox to shoot thru umbrella for a more dramatic feel.

I can honestly say...I am loving having a studio v's having to set up in my home.
I promise to share more photos of the new space as soon as we are ready for our grand opening.
2015 is looking good at Our Country Home.
